About the Humane Seal Icon
||The Humane Seal icon was designed by Peter Max whose work was a part of the psychedelic movement in graphic design in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
He has since been the official artist of major events including the Grammy Awards and the Super Bowl. On his involvement with the Council on Humane Giving, Max said:
I have always been committed to animal protection. The Humane Charity Seal of Approval is an amazing idea that is finally here.
Today, more than ever, I take great care in finding out if a charity is involved in animal testing. This is usually a very hard task. The Humane Seal allows me to know immediately that a health charity is abiding by humane research policies, i.e., no animal testing.
