Answers to Frequently Asked Questions

• There is no cost to participate in the Humane Company program.

• Our goals are simple: to promote companies that have made the compassionate decision not to fund animal experimentation, to encourage consumers to patronize these companies, and to reduce the number of animals in laboratories.

• Companies can join the program by submitting documentation in writing verifying that they do not donate to charities that fund animal experimentation. Please refer to the directory of Humane Charities to verify that the charities you support qualify. At your request, we are happy to research any charities that do not appear in our directory.

• Companies are required to notify The Council if they decide in the future to fund charities that support animal experimentation.

• New members to the Humane Company program will be announced to the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine’s 110,000-plus membership through our electronic newsletter, quarterly magazine, and e-mail alerts.

• A directory of all Humane Companies will be kept on www.HumaneSeal.org.

• Participants in the program will be able to use the Humane Company seal on their web sites and other materials.
